Job summary

Compass Packaging Solutions in North Billerica, MA, is seeking a Packaging Engineer to design protective packaging solutions and generate production drawings using SolidWorks. You will collaborate with customers, account managers and production teams to translate requirements into cost-effective designs for crates, corrugates and foam inserts.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Packaging or related field, strong SolidWorks skills, and knowledge of 2D/3D design tools.

Qualifications

Education in Packaging or related technical field or equivalent industry experience.
Proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D design and production drawings.
Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.

Responsibilities

Packaging design and 3D CAD modeling for crates, corrugated and foam assemblies.
Collaborate with customers and internal teams to capture requirements.
Prepare cost estimates and quotes for packaging concepts.
Coordinate prototypes and validate fit, function and manufacturability.
Maintain BOMs, routings and documentation in ERP/MRP systems.
Support production with design-to-manufacturing transitions.
Create fabrication drawings, assembly instructions and cut lists.
Select materials based on fragility, shipping and sustainability.
