Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• 3+ years of packaging engineering experience.
• Subject-matter expert in corrugated, foam, corru-plastic, and wooden crate solutions.
• Strong CAD skills: SolidWorks, Artios CAD, AutoCAD, Adobe Illustrator.
• Experience prototyping and validating designs through testing.
• Excellent project management and cross-functional collaboration.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Fluent English; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design packaging solutions using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Artios CAD.
• Develop packaging that protects products during transportation, storage, and handling.
• Conduct feasibility studies and validate packaging designs through fit, drop, and performance testing.
• Create prototypes and mockups using CNC cutting equipment.
• Prepare customer drawings, production specifications, and engineering documentation.
• Develop Bills of Materials (BOMs) and raw material records within the ERP system.
• Prepare packaging cost estimates and pricing for the sales team.
• Coordinate production tooling and support first article inspections.
• Implement design revisions and maintain engineering documentation throughout the product lifecycle.
• Collaborate with Sales, Quality, Planning, Purchasing, Production, Customer Service, and manufacturing teams to support customer requirements.
• Ensure packaging solutions are cost-effective, manufacturable, and meet quality standards.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives that optimize materials, processes, and production efficiency.
