Job summary

Pride Mobility Products Corp is seeking a packaging associate to prepare finished goods for shipping. You will wrap, box, label, and securely package mobility scooters and power lift recliners, using a hoist and barcode scanning in Oracle and Matrix systems.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, willingness to learn, strong teamwork, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with strict safety practices.

Responsibilities

  • Package mobility scooters and power lift recliners securely.
  • Wrap and box components, apply labels, and use a powered hoist.
  • Scan Matrix ID with a barcode scanner to ensure correct processing in Oracle.
  • Follow safety rules and report accidents or injuries promptly.
  • Assist with organization and cleaning of the work area and keep aisles clear.

Job description

To prepare and package finished goods for accurate and timely shipping

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
  • Follow proper procedures for packaging mobility scooters and power lift recliners, wrapping and/or boxing loose components, and selecting appropriate boxes, trays, and suspension for each product and securing them with plastic banding straps, micro-foam bags, and foam inserts
  • Ensure all instructions and loose components are secured to the product
  • Scan Matrix ID with barcode scanner to ensure all units are processed accurately in Oracle
  • Print and apply packaging label to mobility scooters and power lift recliners
  • Use powered hoist to place mobility scooters into boxes
  • Promptly communicate barcode, packaging and banding machine issues to management
  • Ensure all safety and security rules are strictly observed and any accidents, incidents or injuries are promptly reported to management
  • Complete the annual CTPAT Security Training
  • Focus on continuous improvement, and consistently demonstrate good business judgment
  • Work effectively with all Pride departments to exceed internal and external expectations
  • Assist with organization and cleaning of work area, keeping aisles and walkways clear at all times
  • Pride retains the discretion to modify duties and/or assign other duties as necessary
REQUIRED SKILLS

Must have the ability to:

  • Read and comprehend work instructions
  • Be cross trained for multiple jobs within assigned work areas
  • Operate touch-screen computer monitors and learn the Matrix/ProductionWare system and any other production software as required
  • Work under general supervision and direction from a Team Leader, Supervisor, and/or Manager
  • Rely on experience and judgment to accomplish daily goals
  • Operate a powered hoist
  • Lift/Push/Pull 40 lbs.

Must have:

  • Relentless drive to achieve advancement and continuous improvement
  • A willingness to learn and/or adapt to new work methods
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
PREFERRED SKILLS
  • Basic working knowledge of Oracle and Matrix/ProductionWare systems preferred
  • Basic computer skills preferred
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
  • No experience required
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
  • At least 1 year of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • At least 1 year of packaging experience preferred
  • At least 1 year of experience using an RF Scanner, barcode scanner, lift assist and pneumatic stapler preferred
  • Current or previous successful employment experience with Pride Mobility Products Corporation preferred
PREFERRED EDUCATION
  • High School Diploma or GED
