Job summary
Western International Gas & Cylinders, Inc. is seeking a professional driver to transport gas cylinders safely and on time to designated locations.
The role requires a valid Class B CDL with Hazmat and Air Brake endorsements, and a medical card; Class A CDL and Tanker endorsements are preferred. The driver will perform pre- and post-trip inspections, maintain logs, and ensure accurate loading records while communicating with supervision on safety matters.
Qualifications
- Must possess a valid commercial Class B CDL, Hazmat, Air Brake Endorsements, and Medical card.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous commercial driving experience or completion of an accredited driving school.
- Minimum one year road experience preferred with no moving violations in three years.
- Must be 21+ with an excellent driving record.
- Must lift 50+ lb containers and push 200+ lb cylinders.
- Ability to read and write English; basic math; maintain duty status records.
- Flexible with work hours.
Responsibilities
- Transports cylinders to internal/external customers safely and on time.
- Performs pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections; keep vehicle clean.
- Complete driver logs daily.
- Record cylinder/hard-good transactions on delivery tickets.
- Maintain communication with supervisor on safety and customers.
- Operate forklift for loading/unloading of products.
- Enforce loss prevention policies and report incidents.
- Use time management to meet deadlines and coordinate with stakeholders.
- Participate in local safety committee as assigned.
- Provide first line technical support.
- Perform other projects and duties as assigned.

Job description
This position is responsible forthe transportation of materials in a safe and timely manner by applyingknowledge for commercial driving regulations, and roads in the area. Theprofessional driver will be responsible for driving to and from designatedlocations, verifying loads to shipping papers, maintaining records of dutystatus according to State and Federal Regulations, and performing pre-tripand post-trip inspections. Must present a professional business image to thepublic as well as fellow employees. Must possess a validcommercial Class B Drivers’ License, Hazmat, Air Brake Endorsements, andMedical card; packaged gas straight truck driver; to include pumper,micro-bulk. Class A Drivers’ License & Tanker Endorsementspreferred. This position reports to the Site Manager or OperationsManager.
1. Transports cylinders to assigned internal and externalcustomers in a timely and safety conscious manner. Stays within all postedspeed limits and complies with all DOT and company safety policies andprocedures.
2. Performs pre-trip and post-trip inspections on thevehicle. Maintains the vehicle in a clean and proper condition.
3. Legibly completes driver log/trip reports on a dailybasis.
4. Responsible for accurate recording of cylinders/hard-goodstransactions on customer delivery tickets and trip reports.
5. Maintains good communications with supervisor andmanagement especially safety and customer matters.
6. Operates / Drives forklift truck as required for loadingand unloading of product.
7. Sets tone for employees by good example through observationof the company's Loss prevention policies and procedures. Reports accidentsincluding near misses, unsafe acts or conditions and obeys safety rules.
8. Uses effective time management tools in order to followthrough on work commitments and scheduled deadlines associated with own job;obtains agreement of all stake-holders within a development program toidentify issues, minimizes risks at an early stage, ensure safety, andon-time delivery.
9. Participate as an active member of the local safetycommittee when assigned according to the rotation process.
11. Provide first line technical support.
12. Perform other projects and duties as assigned.

- Preferred previous experience in the cylinder gasspecialty chemical industry.
