Job Title: Pack Out Assembler

Location: Decatur, AL

Pay: $18.67

Shift: 2nd shift (1:30pm-10:00pm)

Position Summary

Perform processes to complete mechanical and electrical assemblies and sub-assemblies, using hand tools and pneumatic tooling to manufacture product to customer drawings and specifications.

Essential Responsibilities / Duties
  • Read and interpret drawings, follow routers and use simple math to perform basic calculations.
  • Operate hand tools and pneumatic tooling such as screw drivers, utility knives, screw guns and drills to complete mechanical and electrical assemblies and sub-assemblies.
  • Perform visual inspection and dimensional inspection of component parts prior to assembly using basic measuring tools.
  • Comply with all quality policies, specifications, regulations and instructions.
  • Cut insulation and use chemicals, adhesives, paints and inks.
  • Drive a sit-down forklift.
  • Update computer records and paperwork in accordance with production requirements.
  • Maintain work area in a clean, orderly condition and follow prescribed safety procedures.
  • Have a working command of the English language, and be able to communicate orally and in writing.

  • Perform all other duties, as assigned.
Physical Demands

Sits occasionally up to 2.5 hours a day. Stands continuously up to 10 hours a day. Walk frequently up to 7.0 hours a day. Bend/stoop frequently up to 7.0 hours a day. Reach above occasionally up to 2.5 hours a day. Drive, use of foot controls occasionally up to 2.5 hours a day. Pushing/Pulling frequently up to 7 hours a day. Fine manipulation occasionally up to 2.5 hours a day. Grip frequently up to 7 hours a day for tool use and parts handling. Balance continuously up to 10 hours a day - working around equipment. Lift/Carry parts ranging from 0 lb. – 10 lbs. continuously up to 10 hours a day. Lift/Carry parts ranging from 10 lbs. – 20 lbs. occasionally up to 2.5 hours a day. Lift/Carry parts ranging from 20 lbs. – 75 lbs. occasionally up to 2.5 hours a day. Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
