Job summary

Gabriel Group is seeking a packaging operator to support the Pack Line and ensure products meet customer specifications.

You will assist the Pack Line Operator, set up machinery, monitor materials, and help insulate quality by inspecting finished goods and maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

  • Experience in manufacturing or packaging preferred.
  • Basic understanding of packaging machinery and equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long shifts.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good time management and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Pack Line Operator and support line operations.
  • Set up and adjust packaging machinery for different runs.
  • Troubleshoot minor issues to minimize downtime.
  • Monitor flow of materials and products through the packaging process.
  • Operate filling machines and ensure accurate weights/volumes.
  • Check weights/volumes and inspect finished products and packaging.
  • Record discrepancies and report issues to supervision.
  • Follow safety protocols and use PPE; may operate powered equipment.

Description

Purpose: Assist in Production Pack Line (Operator) finished product according to customer requirements per QC instructions.

Primary Responsibilities (Include but are not limited to):

  1. Assist Pack Line Operator:
    • Collaborate closely with the Pack Line Operator to ensure smooth operation of the packaging line.
    • Provide support in setting up and adjusting machinery for different product runs.
    • Help troubleshoot and resolve minor technical issues to minimize downtime.
    • Assist in monitoring the flow of materials and products through the packaging process.
  2. Filling, Check Weights, Sealing Containers, Inspection of Finished Product and Packaging:
    • Operate filling machines to ensure accurate and consistent filling of containers according to specified weights and volumes.
    • Perform regular checks to verify the weight and volume of filled containers, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
    • Stacking pallets per customer specifications.
    • Seal containers securely using appropriate methods and equipment to maintain product integrity.
    • Conduct thorough inspections of finished products and packaging to identify and address any defects or inconsistencies.
    • Record and report any discrepancies or issues found during the inspection process.
  3. Follow Safety Needs:
    • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
    • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and ensure it is in good condition.
    • Participate in safety training sessions and stay updated on best practices for workplace safety.
    • Report any unsafe conditions or incidents to the supervisor immediately.
    • May be required to operate powered equipment as deemed necessary by management.
  4. Follow Packaging Protocols:
    • Adhere to established packaging protocols and procedures to ensure consistency and quality.
    • Maintain accurate records of packaging activities, including batch numbers, quantities, and any deviations from standard procedures.
    • Ensure that all packaging materials are used efficiently and waste is minimized.
    • Collaborate with quality control and other departments to ensure that packaging meets all regulatory and company standards.
    • You may be required to perform other duties as needed to support the overall operations and objectives of the manufacturing facility.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or packaging environment is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of machinery and equipment used in packaging processes.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity to handle repetitive tasks and lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to perform tasks with a high degree of accuracy and identify defects or inconsistencies in products and packaging.
  • Time Management: Efficiently manage time to meet production deadlines and ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with others and contribute to a positive team environment.
