Job summary

Theuniversityunion is seeking a full-time, non-exempt packaging line worker in Van Wert, Ohio. The role focuses on monitoring the production line, preventing downtime, and maintaining quality records.

You will assist with cleaning, material handling, and minor equipment adjustments to optimize performance while working in a collaborative, safety-conscious environment. We offer a benefits package including health insurance, 401K, and PTO.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the production line and stop or reset machines when malfunctions occur; clear jams.
• Replenish materials to keep the line running and prevent downtime.
• Maintain quality records and conduct inspections; report issues to supervisor.
• Keep the packaging area clean and document cleaning tasks.
• Make minor equipment adjustments to optimize line efficiency and keep operations running smoothly.
• Safely operate a pallet jack to move supplies in and out of the packaging area.

Description

Responsibl e for mo nitoring and conducting quality checks to ensure quality product is packed and customers are happy.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• You closely monitor the line andstop or reset machines when malfunctions occur and clear machine jams.
• You replenish the supplies necessary to keep the line running in a timely manner to prevent downtime—this includes stocking conveyors or hoppers with containers, lids boxes or labels.
• You maintain quality records accurately, consistently conduct quality inspections and notify your coach if something doesn’t look quite right.
• You do your part to keep the packaging room clean and neat and document cleaning tasks on the Master Cleaning Schedule.
• You make minor adjustments to equipment during production to optimize efficiency and to keep the line running.
• You safely operate a pallet jack as needed, to bring supplies in/out of the packaging room.

Requirements

TOOLKIT/SKILLS REQUIRED:

• You have high attention to detail and are able to catch the slightest errors or non-conformities.

• You can work quickly and efficiently while maintaining neatness, thoroughness, accuracy andfocus.

• You are physically able to grab, lift and move product and equipment.
