Job summary

The Wilderness Society in Seattle, WA is seeking a Senior Philanthropy Officer to lead a regional portfolio of major donors and prospects. You will work closely with the Senior National Campaigns Director, staff, and volunteers to secure support for TWS campaigns that protect wildlands and advance conservation goals.

You will identify, qualify, and grow major gift prospects, conduct personal visits, and develop tailored strategies for stewardship and solicitation.

Qualifications

• 5-10+ years of major gift fundraising experience.
• Experience in development offices and major gifts.
• Exceptional writing and editing skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
• Ability to work with diverse teams and volunteers.
• Willingness to travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Qualifies, cultivates, solicits, and stewards a 75-125 donor portfolio.
• Develops campaign strategies and donor initiatives with staff.
• Initiates, manages, attends, and follows up on philanthropic events.
• Conducts 10-12 personal visits per month and 30+ solicitations yearly.
• Raises a minimum of $1,500,000 per year and manages regional budget.
• Gathers data and develops strategies for current and lifetime giving.
• Develops written plans for cultivation and solicitation meetings.
• Supports conservation program philanthropy in the Pacific Northwest.
• Performs other duties as required.
