Job summary

Oakland Schools in Michigan seeks a PAC Manager to oversee events in the performing arts center, coordinating setup, staging, lighting, and audio needs for school and community activities.

You will schedule events, supervise student crews, and ensure safety and smooth operation during performances, with a stipend-based, one-year appointment.

Qualifications

• BSD Staff Member preferred.
• Proven experience working in / teaching in the co-curricular assignment.

Responsibilities

• The PAC Manager oversees all events that take place in the PAC, managing setup and technology needs before and during events.
• Schedule internal school events, student productions, and helps to coordinate outside community rentals.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot lighting, sound, rigging, and stage equipment.
• Train and supervise student tech crews, support staff, and event ushers.
• Ensure compliance with safety codes, fire regulations, and stage safety protocols.
• Other duties as assigned

Frontline Applicant Tracking - Oakland Schools

Co-curricular programs are organized and structured activities coordinated by the District that take place outside of the classroom. These programs serve to strengthen a student's academic performance, and also support a student's interpersonal development. A school performing arts center (PAC) manager oversees the daily operations, scheduling, technical production, and safety of our PAC, located at Brandon High School.

Qualifications:

• BSD Staff Member is preferred
• Proven experience working in / teaching in the co-curricular assignment

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Excellent interpersonal skills: the ability to interact and work effectively and cooperatively with children, families and colleagues
• Ability to demonstrate critical thinking and problem solving skills
• Ability to execute lessons to meet the needs of a variety of learners
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate in both written and verbal formats
• Ability to move and lift up to 25 lbs.
• Proficiency with professional audio-visual and theatrical lighting control boards.
• Strong leadership, organization, and communication abilities to work with students, faculty, and visiting artists.

Terms and Compensation:

All appointments are for one year

Paid at a Stipend rate of $5,000.00 for the full school year (may be prorated based on start date)
