Coordinate the business aspects of a department to include but not limited to strategy, project management, budget planning and oversight, and financial operations. The first-level manager oversees one or more sections of a department and is responsible for managing two or more professionals and support staff in daily operations. Their primary objective is to ensure the well-being of the employees they manage. Their recommendations on hiring, firing, or promotion are valued, but they usually do not have the authority to make those decisions directly.
