Overview

MUSC Community Physicians (MCP) is an entity within the Medical University of South Carolina that provides healthcare to patients within the rural health network throughout the state of South Carolina.

Responsibilities

Coordinate the business aspects of a department to include but not limited to strategy, project management, budget planning and oversight, and financial operations. The first-level manager oversees one or more sections of a department and is responsible for managing two or more professionals and support staff in daily operations. Their primary objective is to ensure the well-being of the employees they manage. Their recommendations on hiring, firing, or promotion are valued, but they usually do not have the authority to make those decisions directly.

Minimum Education And Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent; 6 years progressive work experience and 1 year of management experience.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, walking, and climbing stairs.
• Ability to work from elevated areas and in confined/cramped spaces.
• Ability to kneel, bend, twist, squat, and perform gross motor movements with hands and fingers.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs unassisted; ability to lift/lower objects from floor to 36 inches unassisted; ability to lift from 36" to overhead 25 lbs; ability to exert up to 50 lbs of force.
• Ability to perform reaching, grasping, and fine motor activities; ability to use lower extremities for balance and coordination.
• Ability to maintain 20/40 vision (corrected) and good hearing acuity; ability to see and recognize objects at close and distance; color discrimination ability.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, work overtime as required, and work in a latex-safe environment.
• Ability to maintain tactile sensory functions and olfactory sensory function.
• Ability to be qualified physically for respirator use, initially and as required.
