Job summary

PRIME AE Group is seeking an Associate Vice President of Transportation – Pennsylvania Lead to guide the state’s transportation practice from Harrisburg or Pittsburgh. You will lead design and construction efforts, strengthen client relationships, and drive growth across PennDOT, PTC, and regional agencies.

You will mentor teams, oversee multi-office operations, and ensure high-quality project delivery while expanding market presence and pursuing new opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering required; Master’s preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• 20+ years of transportation design engineering with leadership in a consulting environment.
• Experience with PennDOT and Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission projects and standards.
• Strong knowledge of LRFD, AASHTO policies, and transportation design guidelines.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary transportation programs and teams.
• Proficiency with MicroStation/InRoads, OpenRoads Designer, or related design platforms.
• Proven ability to grow business and lead successful pursuits.
• Strong financial and operational management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead transportation operations across Pennsylvania and drive growth objectives.
• Oversee revenue, backlog, profitability, and operational efficiency.
• Direct transportation teams across multiple offices and ensure resources for quality work.
• Provide design and construction oversight for highways, bridges, and traffic systems.
• Ensure compliance with PennDOT, PTC, AASHTO, and industry standards; coordinate subconsultants.
• Mentor transportation professionals and support recruitment and development.
• Represent PRIME AE to clients and industry partners in transportation.
• Lead business development, pursuits, and client engagement activities.
• Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture focused on growth.
