UAB Medicine is seeking a Physician Assistant to support physicians in the Outpatient Primary Care clinic in Gardendale. The role is weekdays, 8:00 a.m.

to 4:30 p.m., with direct patient care responsibilities in a busy clinic setting. Responsibilities include taking histories, performing exams, ordering and interpreting tests, treating conditions, and counseling patients about preventive care and treatment options.

Competenze

• Licensed Physician Assistant credentialed from the Alabama Board of Medical Examiners.
• BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association within 30 days of hire.
• Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association within 12 months of hire.

• Provides direct diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care services under the supervision of a physician.
• Obtains patient history and performs assessment; orders, performs and interprets diagnostic procedures.
• Provides and documents direct treatment and management of health conditions.

Job Description

Provides direct diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care services under the supervision of a

physician

• Obtains patient history and performs assessment. Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic procedures.
• Provides and documents direct treatment and management of health conditions.
• Provides counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.
• Performs preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and care.

Qualifications

Required Credential(s)

• Licensed Physician Assistant credentialed from the Alabama Board of Medical Examiners obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
• Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.

Education

• Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Master's degree preferred.
• 1 year of experience preferred.
