UAB Medicine is seeking a physician for the Primary Care outpatient clinic in Oneonta, AL. The role is scheduled Monday through Friday with on-site work at 150 Gilbreath Drive, Suite 201, Oneonta.

The physician will provide comprehensive medical care and participate in education and research activities as requested. The successful candidate will have an MD or DO, Alabama licensure, and preferred ALS certification.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree required and Alabama medical licensure before hire date.
• Advanced Life Support (AHA) credential preferred.

Responsabilités

• Evaluates and treats patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills.
• Participates in efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care.
• Accepts referrals and may serve as admitting/attending/consulting physician for hospitalization needs.
• Participates in academic programs such as medical education and research as requested.
• Provides documentation meeting insurance requirements and appeals denials timely.
• Participates in inpatient and outpatient consultations for specialty needs, including on-call schedules.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

• Evaluates and treats patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills.
• Recommends, participates in, and works to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.
• Accepts patient referrals from other physicians. Acts as admitting, attending and/or consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, depending on needs of patients, medical staff and hospital.
• Participates in academic programs (e.g. medical education and research) as requested.
• Provides appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements; appeal all denials in a timely manner.
• Participates in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty, which may include on call schedules.

Qualifications

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

• Licensed Graduate Doctoral Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Alabama Board of Medical Examiners obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) preferred.

Education:

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
