Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health Inc. is seeking an Orthopedic (Hand, Wrist & Elbow) Physician Assistant to assist, monitor and manage day-to-day patient needs under physician supervision. The PA will handle routine visits, triage new patients, and manage post-operative visits and OR time.

Weekend on-call on a rotating basis is required, with every fourth weekend and holiday work as needed. Excellent communication and computer skills are essential for success in this fast-paced orthopedic setting.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an approved physician's assistant program, accredited by the AMA Council on Medical Education.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.

Responsibilities

• Assist, monitor, and manage day-to-day patient needs as directed by a supervising physician.
• Handle routine visits, triage new patients, and manage post-operative visits and operating room time.
• Work five days a week in the office; weekend on-call on a rotating basis is required.
• Proceed with every fourth weekend on-call and holiday work as needed.
• Maintain on-call commitment as part of the role.

The Orthopedic (Hand, Wrist & Elbow) Physician Assistant assists, monitors, and manages the day-to-day needs of patients as requested by, in conjunction with, and under the supervision of a physician. Performs the duties and responsibilities of a Physician Assistant according to customary and generally accepted medical standards. The

Physician Assistant will report to the office five days a week to handle routine visits, triage new patients and manage post-operative visits and OR time
Weekend on-call on a rotating basis will be required.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• Successful completion of an approved physician's assistant program, accredited by the AMA Council on Medical Education.

Licenses and Certifications Required:

• Physician Assistant License.
• National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
