Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health Inc. in New Jersey seeks an Orthopedic Physician Assistant to assist, monitor, and manage day-to-day patient needs under physician supervision. The PA handles routine visits, triages new patients and manages post-operative visits five days a week in a busy orthopedic practice.

Weekend on-call on a rotating basis is required, with every fourth weekend and holiday work as needed. A PA program accredited by the AMA Council on Medical Education, PA license, NCCPA

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an approved physician's assistant program (AMA accredited).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and Google Suite.

Job description

The Orthopedic Physician Assistant assists, monitors, and manages the day-to‑day needs of patients as requested by, in conjunction with, and under the supervision of a physician. Performs the duties and responsibilities of a Physician Assistant according to customary and generally accepted medical standards. The Physician Assistant will report to the office five days a week to handle routine visits, triage new patients and manage post-operative visits. Weekend on-call on a rotating basis will be required.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• 1. Successful completion of an approved physician's assistant program, accredited by the AMA Council on Medical Education.

Licenses and Certifications Required:

• 1. Physician Assistant License.
• 2. National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
• 3. BLS AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.
• 4. Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification.
