Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health Inc. is seeking a Physician Assistant (First Assist) to support OR duties and patient care under physician supervision in a multi-campus setting.

The role covers North Bergen, Hoboken, and Mountainside Hospital in Montclair, with clinic and OR schedules Monday through Friday, day shifts, and occasional weekend work. Holidays and on-call are not required.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an approved physician's assistant program.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills that include Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms

Responsibilities

• Assists, monitors, and manages day-to-day patient needs under physician supervision.
• Performs duties of a Physician Assistant including OR responsibilities.
• Schedule includes Monday–Friday clinic and OR, with CMAs in the office setting; day shift; weekends as needed; no holidays or on-call.

Job description

The Physician Assistant (First Assist) assists, monitors, and manages the day-to-day needs of patients as requested by, in conjunction with, and under the supervision of a physician. Performs the duties and responsibilities of a Physician Assistant according to customary and generally accepted medical standards.

First Assist experience required as this position will have OR duties.

Supporitng a Urogyn provider in both clinical inpatient, and outpatient settings.

Multi-Campus: North Bergen, Hoboken, and Mountainside Hospital - Montclair

Schedule: Monday through Friday Clinic and OR, working with CMAs within the office setting

Day shift.

Weekends as needed.

No holidays required.

No on-call requirement.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: 1. Successful completion of an approved physician's assistant program, accredited by the AMA Council on Medical Education. 2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 3. Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms

Licenses and Certifications Required: 1. Physician Assistant License. 2. National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. 3. BLS AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification. 4. AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification.
