Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL seeks a Physician Assistant or Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner to join the Inpatient APP Department. You will work under MMG supervision to provide post-operative and inpatient care for specialty patients, with autonomy within defined protocols.

Responsibilities include coordinating care with an interdisciplinary team, responding to inpatient consults, and developing treatment plans. A sign-on bonus and differential are available.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree minimum; master's degree preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Advanced Registered Nurse program.
• Active FL medical license and national certification.
• Active BLS and ACLS (AHA approved).
• Experience in oncology or internal medicine preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Provides patient care as a member of an interdisciplinary team, coordinating and optimizing care for postoperative patients.
• Responds to inpatient consults, assesses patients and escalates as necessary.
• Formulates differential diagnoses and treatment plans within scope of practice.
• May perform minor surgical procedures within scope of practice.
• Prescribes oral and IV medications when appropriate.
• Documents patient care in accordance with medical staff rules.

Summary

Practices medicine within the scope of authority and privileges granted by Moffitt Cancer Center. Provides patient care under the auspices of Moffitt Medical Group, and serves as member of the academic medical enterprise, advancing the institutional mission of contributing to the prevention and cure of cancer. As a medical provider that is not a physician, but is licensed to diagnose and treat patients under the supervision of a physician, the Physician Assistant assists physicians in the evaluation, management and treatment of patients. The Physician Assistant is involved in a wide spectrum of patients with different medical problems, procedures and co-morbidities. Works independently within a defined scope of practice and under the authority of supervising physician(s).

The Surgical Inpatient APP Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner position provides patient care under the auspices of the Moffitt Medical Group (MMG) and serves as member of the academic medical enterprise; advancing the institutional mission of contributing to the prevention and cure of cancer.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care as a member of an interdisciplinary team, working with different providers to coordinate and optimize patient care of post-operative patients
• Responds to inpatient consults requests for the specialty, assesses the patient and escalates as necessary
• Correlates subjective and objective data to formulate a differential or working diagnosis.
• Formulates treatment plans for medical conditions within scope of practice.
• May perform minor surgical procedures within scope of practice.
• Prescribes oral and IV medications when appropriate, within the scope of practice.
• Documents patient care in accordance with medical staff rules.

Additional Information

• This position will specifically monitor post-operative and inpatient care of patients. Particular knowledge and care of these wounds is beneficial.
• The inpatient care will also include discharge planning and management under the guidance of the attending. This position will work closely with Residents and Fellows to care for the patients.
• This position will also attend to inpatient consults as requested. Assessment and escalation are critical components of this position.

Credentials And Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree at minimum; master's degree preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Advanced Registered Nurse program.
• Active FL medical license (or the ability to obtain one) and national certification by the appropriate accreditation body.
• Active BLS and ACLS. (Must be AHA approved)
• Experience in oncology or general internal medicine; previous specific experience preferred.

Salary Range

$131,892.80 - $201,052.80

Salary ranges posted for this position represent the expected base pay range for the role. Actual compensation may vary based on location and a variety of job-related factors, including experience, skills, education, and internal equity among Team Members in similar positions.
