Summary

Practices medicine within the scope of authority and privileges granted by Moffitt Cancer Center. Provides patient care under the auspices of Moffitt Medical Group, and serves as member of the academic medical enterprise; advancing the institutional mission of contributing to the prevention and cure of cancer. As a medical provider that is not a physician but is licensed to diagnose and treat patients under protocol with a physician(s), the Nurse Practitioner assists physicians in the evaluation, management and treatment of patients. The Nurse Practitioner is involved in a wide spectrum of patients with different medical problems, procedures and co-morbidities. Works independently within a defined scope of practice and under the authority of physician(s) under protocol(s).

Responsibilities

• Provides patient critical care as a member of an interdisciplinary team, working with many specialists to coordinate and optimize patient care.
• Correlates subjective and objective data to formulate a differential or working diagnosis.
• Formulates treatment plans for medical conditions within scope of practice.
• May perform minor surgical bedside procedures within scope of practice.
• Prescribes oral and IV medications when appropriate, within the scope of practice.
• Documents patient care in accordance with medical staff rules.

Additional Information

This full time position is for our Intensive Care Unit (ICU), for inpatient care of patients who have a presently or potentially life‑threatening medical or surgical condition. The position will specifically cover day shift. The role may span the clinical and research enterprise, and supports patient care, research, and education.

Credentials and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree at minimum; master's degree preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse program.
• Active FL medical license (or the ability to obtain one) and national certification by the appropriate accreditation body.
• Active BLS and ACLS (must be AHA approved).
• Experience in oncology, critical care, emergency medicine and/or general internal medicine is preferred.

Salary Range

$128,666.20 - $196,144.00. Salary ranges posted for this position represent the expected base pay range for the role. Actual compensation may vary based on location and a variety of job‑related factors, including experience, skills, education, and internal equity among Team Members in similar positions.
