Job summary

Legends Global in El Paso, TX is seeking a Grounds & Facilities Technician for our water park properties. Responsibilities include routine landscaping, irrigation, pool cleaning, and general maintenance to keep facilities safe, clean, and presentable.

You will operate lawn equipment, perform basic irrigation tasks, inspect equipment, and assist with facility upkeep. A valid driver's license is required; some travel between park locations may be needed.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintain site landscaping including lawns, trees, shrubs, flowers, and irrigation systems.
• Operate and maintain hand tools, lawnmowers, trimmers, blowers, pressure washers, trucks, trailers, and other equipment.
• Perform basic irrigation audits and repairs, adjust watering systems for efficiency.
• Perform pool cleaning including vacuuming, brushing, skimming, and scrubbing as assigned.
• Assist with moving, setting up, and storing furniture and event infrastructure.
• Support seasonal opening, closing, winterization, storage, and facility improvement projects.

Job description

Position Summary Legends Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities has an immediate opening for a Grounds & Facilities Technician for the four water parks. This position performs routine landscaping, irrigation, pool cleaning, facility upkeep, and general maintenance support to maintain safe, clean, and presentable facilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain site landscaping, including lawns, trees, shrubs, flowers, turf, and irrigation systems.
• Mow, edge, trim, prune hedges and shrubs, remove weeds, and spread mulch as needed.
• Operate and maintain hand tools, lawnmowers, trimmers, blowers, pressure washers, trucks, trailers, and other assigned equipment.
• Conduct pre-use inspections of assigned equipment and promptly report or remove unsafe equipment from service.
• Conduct basic irrigation audits, perform minor irrigation repairs, and adjust watering systems for efficiency.
• Identify plant health, pest, turf, tree, or irrigation conditions requiring specialized treatment and report them to maintenance leadership.
• Assist trained and authorized staff with specialized grounds treatments as assigned.
• Keep grounds, entrances, parking areas, walkways, pool decks, and exterior areas free from trash, litter, and debris.
• Perform physical pool cleaning including vacuuming, brushing, skimming, and scrubbing as assigned.
• Perform pressure washing, painting, touch-up work, minor facility repairs, and general facility upkeep within demonstrated competency.
• Assist with moving, setting up, and storing furniture, umbrellas, equipment, supplies, materials, and event infrastructure.
• Assist Maintenance Technicians with projects requiring additional labor, material handling, cleanup, or equipment support.
• Support seasonal opening, closing, winterization, storage, and facility improvement projects.
• Maintain inventory awareness of grounds and facilities supplies and report maintenance or replacement needs.
• Complete assigned Mobaro work orders, inspections, and checklists as required.
• Observe grounds and facilities for unsafe conditions, damage, leaks, trip hazards, or other maintenance concerns and promptly correct or report them as appropriate.
• Work independently with minimal supervision and adjust to changing operational priorities.
• Work flexible and irregular hours as required.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

• Ability to operate lawnmowers, trimmers, hedge trimmers, leaf blowers, pressure washers, hand tools, and related grounds equipment.
• Working knowledge of routine landscaping, groundskeeping, and irrigation practices.
• Ability to troubleshoot and perform minor irrigation repairs.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to perform routine facility upkeep within training.
• Ability to inspect assigned equipment and recognize unsafe operating conditions.
• Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others.
• Work independently, exercising judgment and initiative.
• Maintain an effective working relationship with clients, employees, exhibitors, and patrons.
• Follow all policies/procedures, risk management, safety precautions, rules, regulations, and emergency procedures established at the facility.
• Must be licensed and insured to operate a motor vehicle in the United States and have reliable transportation and ability to travel between assigned park locations.
• Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.

Minimum Education & Experience

• Valid driver's license.
• Previous grounds, landscaping, irrigation, facilities, or related maintenance experience preferred.

Physical Demands

Physical requirements include the ability to communicate verbally, walk, climb, kneel, lift, carry, stoop, and operate equipment. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Position requires work both indoors and outdoors and is subject to adverse weather and working conditions
