Job summary

Hawaiian Building Maintenance (HBM) is seeking a part-time janitorial associate for Saturday and Sunday shifts in Mililani, HI. The role involves maintaining clean areas, restocking supplies, and adhering to safety standards while delivering professional service to clients.

Experience in janitorial work is preferred; a high school diploma is desired, and applicants must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and communicate in English. Competitive hourly pay is offered and training is available.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high standard of cleanliness of assigned duties (sweep, dust, mop, vacuum, remove/dispose trash).
• Empty trash receptacles and dispose properly.
• Restock cleaning supplies.
• Must be able to climb onto the roof using a ladder.
• Paint the facility and patch potholes in parking lot.
• Multi-task and work efficiently both independently and as a team.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain professionalism.
• Communicate effectively with supervisor, co-workers, vendors and property manager.

Job description

Hawaiian Building Maintenance (HBM) has been providing quality service since 1957. We are one of the largest facility service providers in the State of Hawaii. We currently perform janitorial building services, mechanical engineering, HVAC and maintenance services for numerous commercial, retail and residential properties on Oahu, Kauai, Maui and the Big Island.

• Schedule: Saturday and Sunday: 5:30am to 2:00pm
• Hourly rate: $17.50

Key responsibilities

• Maintain high standard of cleanliness of assigned duties (sweep, dust, mop, vacuum, remove/dispose trash to designated area, clean/wipe down areas, and use of a ladder to access elevated areas)
• Empty trash receptacles, wastebaskets, recyclables and properly dispose to designated areas
• Restock cleaning supplies
• Must have the ability to climb onto the roof using a ladder
• Painting the facility
• Patch potholes in the parking lot to ensure a safe and smooth surface for vehicles and pedestrians
• Multi-task, work efficiently both independently and as a team
• Follow safety procedures
• Uphold a high standard of professionalism and customer service at all times
• Communicate effectively with supervisor, co-workers, vendors and property manager
• Report safety issues or building problems (i.e. burnt light bulbs, etc.)
• Notify appropriate HBM employees of the supplies and equipment that are needed for cleaning duties
• Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor or property management

Skills / Qualifications

• Previous janitorial, custodian experience or related experience is preferred, and willing to train.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English
