Johnson Service Group is seeking a degreed Mechanical Designer - P&ID Developer for a contract position in Moss Point, MS. The role emphasizes creating, updating, and maintaining P&IDs for industrial processes and collaborating with engineering teams.

The ideal candidate has 5–10 years of P&ID development experience, strong AutoCAD skills, and a solid understanding of safety standards. Onsite work with field interaction is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 5–10 years of mechanical design experience with P&ID development.
• Proficiency in P&ID software (AutoCAD).
• Solid understanding of industrial processes and instrumentation.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• P&ID Development: Create and update P&IDs using AutoCAD.
• Collaborate with mechanical/process engineers to meet design specs.
• Generate detailed P&ID documentation with symbols and instrumentation.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and project-specific requirements.
• Assist with material selection and change management for P&IDs.
• Produce as-built P&IDs reflecting actual configurations.
• Review and validate P&IDs for accuracy and completeness.
• Communicate design concepts clearly to the team.
• Provide training and support to junior drafters.
