Job summary

HVEA Engineers is seeking a P.E. Resident Engineer with NYSDOT specifications and resident experience for highway and roadway projects in the Hudson Valley. The role emphasizes supervising construction, QA, and coordination with contractors.

The candidate should hold a NYS Professional Engineer license, have 5+ years of inspection experience, and demonstrate strong communication and leadership skills to manage field and office engineering activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.
• 5+ years of inspection experience on bridge, highway and roadway projects.
• NYSDOT and/or locally administered Federal Aid project experience.
• Current NYS Professional Engineer license.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise construction on highway/roadway projects and ensure QA compliance with plans and specs.
• Maintain accurate records and reports related to the project.
• Act as point of contact with general contractor and negotiate change orders.
• Monitor progress and inform Project Manager of delays.
