Job description

We're looking for a proactive and collaborative professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys applying learned solutions across similar project types. Experience in telecom is helpful, but not essential. Candidates with a working knowledge of AutoCAD—or a willingness to learn—are encouraged to apply. While drafting work is primarily handled by the support team, the role is dynamic and benefits from someone comfortable making minor edits or enhancements directly. The position involves compiling details from previous documentation, site imagery, and supporting files into clearly scoped drawing sets for both construction and recordkeeping purposes. Our team values culture, flexibility, and work-life balance, and we're seeking someone who enjoys being part of a tight-knit, growing team with a strong voice in shaping the future of the department.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee project planning and task distribution among a team of engineers and drafting professionals to generate comprehensive documentation, including layouts, site plans, and lease visuals for various wireless infrastructure deployments (e.g., towers, rooftops, utility assets).

  • Provide direction on drafting standards, drawing templates, and ensure completion of sealed engineering documents in line with permitting and client requirements. Collaborate with engineers across civil, structural, and electrical disciplines to assemble complete drawing packages and cross-train in various technical concepts.
  • Analyze prior construction or as-built documentation when physical site access is limited or impractical; interpret hidden utilities or existing infrastructure details from plans and third-party reports.
  • Incorporate vendor specifications, third-party engineering input, and jurisdictional requirements into construction-ready drawing sets.
  • Develop and review plan sheets including (but not limited to):
    • Title sheets and index pages
    • Detailed site configurations
    • Installation and mounting details
    • Electrical routing and grounding diagrams
    • General construction notes and annotations
  • Coordinate with internal departments and external partners, such as RF engineers and acquisition consultants, to ensure cohesive project delivery.
  • Engage in process improvement initiatives across the engineering team to enhance efficiency and consistency in drawing productions.

Qualifications:

  • Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license preferred with eligibility for multi-state licensure; open to candidates who have completed EIT hours and scheduled P.E. exam.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of professional engineering experience.
  • Proven ability to lead technical teams, especially drafters and engineers-in-training (preferred).
  • Experience with wireless/telecommunications projects (preferred, not required).
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD (preferred) or willingness to learn.
  • Strong communication skills with ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deadlines simultaneously.
