Job summary

Oxford Risk Management Group in New York seeks an Underwriting Specialist to execute critical thinking, with strong communication and organizational skills. You will work in a small, entrepreneurial, mission-driven environment focused on customer service and risk assessment for P&C lines.

You will analyze policies, loss history, and renewal data, discuss uninsured risks with clients, and prepare quotes and documentation for sign-off.

Qualifications

Extensive knowledge of Property & Casualty insurance programs, including Commercial Property, Auto, General Liability, and GAP Coverage.
Strong written and verbal communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

Analyze Property & Casualty policies for completion and coverage gaps.
Analyze loss runs and claims history to propose underwriting terms and risk mitigation.
Complete commercial policy intake forms and gather underwriting information.
Conduct underwriting calls with clients to discuss uninsured risks and data for pricing.
Review renewal information, develop a renewal position, and prepare quote summaries.
Submit case files for risk analysis and actuarial pricing.
Review large datasets for accuracy and completeness.
Evaluate exposures and recommend coverage enhancements.
Send underwriting documents to clients to support coverages.
Explain Oxford's coverage definitions with emphasis on P&C, Auto, GL, and GAP.
Coordinate with Claims for underwriting sign-off and trend analysis.
