Job summary

Employee Relations Associates, Inc. is seeking a Scrum Master in Trenton, NJ to facilitate all Scrum ceremonies, coach teams, and collaborate with Product Owners to optimize backlogs. The role emphasizes Agile practices, self-organization, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong P&C Insurance background with Guidewire, Scrum/Kanban knowledge, and a CSMS/PSM certification. Onsite collaboration with cross-functional teams is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Strong experience in P&C Insurance domain and Guidewire product.
• Strong knowledge of Scrum, Kanban, and other Agile methodologies.
• CSM or PSM certification is highly preferred.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced Agile environment.
• Excellent facilitation, coaching, and mentoring skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on removing impediments and fostering self-organization.
• Familiarity with Agile tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Trello, or similar.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with team members and stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Effective team facilitation and leadership.
• Adaptability and openness to change in a fast-moving environment.
• A commitment to continuous improvement and fostering a learning culture.
• Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Support the team in following Agile practices and principles, fostering self-organization and accountability.
• Collaborate with the Product Owner to manage and prioritize the product backlog effectively.
• Identify and remove obstacles that impede the team's progress and work to ensure the team remains focused on achieving sprint goals.
• Coach team members and stakeholders on Agile principles, promoting continuous improvement and growth.
• Ensure clear and open communication within the Scrum team and with external stakeholders.
• Monitor KPIs to track team progress and identify areas for improvement.
• Help the team maintain a sustainable pace of work and ensure the delivery of high-quality products.
• Foster a collaborative, supportive, and productive team environment.
• Promote a culture of transparency, feedback, and continuous learning within the team.
