Questpro Consultants LLC is seeking a Risk Management Actuary to support enterprise risk management and underwriting decisions for a private commercial property and casualty insurer. The role reports to the Chief Pricing Actuary and collaborates with Underwriting, Pricing, Reserving and leadership to translate data into actionable insights.

You will lead data packages for reinsurance, analyze risk, and help shape pricing and portfolio decisions using Excel, SQL and Python.

Competenze

• FCAS required and active status.
• 10+ years P&C insurance experience.
• Experience with catastrophe modeling or reinsurance.
• Bachelor's degree in actuarial science or related field.
• Strong Excel/SQL/Python data skills.

Our client, a privately held, mission-driven commercial property and casualty insurer is hiring a Risk Management Actuary to support enterprise risk management and underwriting decisions. The company has a long record of disciplined underwriting and long-term thinking, and because it is privately held, it focuses on lasting success rather than short-term investor returns. This role reports to the Chief Pricing Actuary and works closely with Underwriting, Pricing, Reserving and senior leadership. It concentrates on portfolio risk, pricing adequacy, reinsurance and financial risk analysis. It is a strong fit for a technically skilled actuary who can turn complex data into practical recommendations.

What You'll Do

• Lead preparation, validation and submission of reinsurance data packages (exposure, loss and modeled output) for treaty placements
• Support treaty renewals, including reinsurer data requests and follow-up analysis
• Evaluate reinsurance structures, retentions and limits through financial and risk-based analysis
• Analyze portfolio risk, premium adequacy, loss drivers and concentration exposures to support enterprise risk management
• Conduct and review pricing and rate indications to support underwriting profitability
• Work with Underwriting and Pricing on rating structures, pricing assumptions and portfolio performance
• Track portfolio performance, renewal rate changes and key risk metrics
• Support management, regulatory and rating agency reporting
• Build analytical tools, dashboards and process improvements using Excel, SQL and Python
• Perform ad hoc analysis on large losses, emerging risks and portfolio trends

What We're Looking For

• Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS), required
• 10+ years of P&C insurance experience, ideally with a U.S. commercial insurer
• Meaningful experience with catastrophe modeling and/or reinsurance
• Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, economics, risk management, insurance or a related field
• Strong technical skills, including tool-building and data manipulation (Excel, SQL, Python)
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both collaboratively and independently
