Job summary

Oliver James Associates Ltd. is partnering with a well-established P&C insurer in Florida to appoint a Controller who will lead the Corporate Accounting function and work closely with executive leadership on day-to-day operations and long-term strategy.

You’ll own GAAP and STAT reporting, manage external audits and regulatory filings, oversee premium accounting, budgeting, forecasting, FP&A, cash flow, treasury and tax oversight, and mentor the accounting team.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of accounting experience, including 5+ years within P&C insurance.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, STAT and regulatory reporting.
• Experience leading audits, financial reporting and FP&A.
• Previous people leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Corporate Accounting function.
• Oversee Premium Accounting.
• GAAP and STAT monthly, quarterly and annual reporting.
• External audit management and regulatory reporting.
• Budgeting, forecasting and FP&A.
• Cash flow forecasting, treasury and tax oversight.
• Cost centre budgeting and business partnering with operational leaders.
• Leading, mentoring and developing the accounting team.
• Support strategic initiatives alongside senior leadership.
