Job summary

TD Thornton is seeking a Project Manager to lead scoping, design, construction, and commissioning of large capital projects in the distribution electric utility sector. You will oversee all aspects of multi-year projects, safeguarding client interests and delivering on time and within budget.

As owner’s representative, you’ll provide sound guidance, manage cross-functional teams, and ensure project controls, scheduling, and cost management are executed effectively.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years in construction project management, project engineering, or related field construction.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience managing large, complex construction projects, preferably $20M+.
• Strong understanding of construction means and methods, sequencing and field operations.
• Experience managing budgets, estimates, forecasts, and cost reports.

Responsibilities

• Manage construction projects from planning through turnover and closeout.
• Develop and maintain project plans, budgets, and schedules.
• Monitor costs against estimates and address overruns.
• Coordinate with superintendents and project engineers to align field work with requirements.
• Manage subcontractor performance, change orders, invoicing, and risks.
• Communicate project progress, risks, and changes to stakeholders.
• Coach and develop project team members and assign clear roles.
