Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Construction Management Professional to support industrial construction activities in the Cleveland, Ohio area. You will act as the owner’s representative, overseeing contractors, scheduling, and coordination, serving as the client’s main day-to-day contact.

You will monitor progress, review plans and submittals, and maintain comprehensive project documentation. Travel may be required, and the role demands strong leadership and risk mitigation capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 6 years of relevant experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required; frequency depends on duties and project demands.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee industrial and/or commercial construction projects.
• Serve as the owner’s representative during construction.
• Oversee mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and controls construction activities.
• Coordinate contractors, engineers, and project stakeholders.
• Review construction plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Monitor project schedules, milestones, and CPM schedules.
• Review and coordinate shop drawings and technical submittals.
• Monitor construction progress, quality, materials, and project requirements.
• Identify and document deficiencies, schedule delays, cost concerns, and construction risks.
• Support change orders, claims, and contract administration.
• Maintain daily construction reports and project documentation.
• Prepare monthly progress reports.
• Run and participate in project and site meetings.
• Coordinate with contractors to resolve field issues and construction conflicts.
• Coordinate construction activities with ongoing site operations, as applicable.
• Review applicable regulations, codes, and project requirements.
