Job summary

Norbet-Trucking in East Chicago, IN seeks an experienced CDL-A Owner Operators to haul steel and other freight on a flatbed fleet. You drive your own tractor-trailer, load and secure cargo, and follow all safety and DOT rules while working with dispatch to pick up regional loads.

This role offers a 75% owner-operator pay structure, 100% fuel surcharge, stop & detention pay, and insurance coverage for liability and truck. Layovers of 1–2 nights may occur; weekends are not required.

Qualifications

• CDL-A license required.
• Minimum three years operating flatbed.
• Clean driving record for three years.

Responsibilities

• Load and secure freight to prevent movement and ensure safe transport.
• Assist in loading/unloading as required.
• Layovers 1–2 nights during the week; no weekends.

Hiring an experienced CDL-A Owner Operators - steady loads, competitive rates, and a company you can rely on!

Responsible for driving your own tractor-trailer in compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations as well as company policies and procedures for transporting various materials in a safe and timely manner to regional or local customers.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for proper loading and securing freight to prevent movement and allow safe transport.
• Assist in loading and unloading as required.
• Layover is possible for 1 or 2 nights during the week. No Weekends
• Maintain accurate records and logs.
• Perform vehicle inspections and preventative maintenance before, during and after trips.
• Works with dispatch for delivery assignments and road service throughout the day.
• Reads bill of lading to determine assignment schedule.
• If necessary, report all incidents and accidents accurately and timely within the scope of the company and DOT required processes.

Experience

• Experience hauling steel a plus
• Minimum three years operating flatbed.
• Driving record must be three years traffic accident and violation free.
