Smith Seckman Reid, Inc. (SSR) is seeking a licensed engineer to lead portions of project designs, collaborate with EOR, and oversee drawings and specs. The role involves coordinating with architects, utilities, and authorities to ensure code compliance and efficient progress.

Responsibilities include design studies, load calculations, equipment selection, and reviews of contractor submittals. Mentoring of designers/EITs and ongoing learning are emphasized within a collaborative, owner-focused

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Bachelor's degree in engineering with four years of design/analysis experience.
• Registered Professional Engineer in the applicable state or ASCE-affiliated equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Begin assuming responsible charge for portions of project designs under supervision.
• Develop design approaches with input from the EOR; perform engineering studies.
• Oversee preparation of drawings and documentation; ensure accuracy and standards.
• Coordinate with architect and disciplines; communicate design requirements clearly.
• Attend internal kickoff/design meetings with owners/clients/architects; document decisions.
• Coordinate with authorities, utilities, and municipalities for codes and requirements.
• Assist with discipline man-hour budgets; plan work and report progress.
• Perform studies, load calculations, and equipment selection; ensure technical accuracy.
• Respond to contractor questions during bid/construction; review submittals.
• Conduct site visits to monitor progress and observe construction.
• Maintain detailed records of communications; contribute to lessons learned.
• Support training and mentoring of designers and EITs; pursue ongoing learning.
