Job summary

Talent Edge Recruiting partners with a family-owned commercial real estate organization in the Chicago Western Suburbs. The Assistant Property Manager will handle day-to-day operations for eight retail properties, engaging tenants and vendors while supporting budgets and capital projects.

This on-site role offers a path to a Property Manager position, with a discretionary annual bonus and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, FSA, 401(k), and generous paid time off.

Qualifications

• 2–3+ years of commercial property management experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of an eight-property commercial portfolio.
• Conduct property inspections and ensure maintenance to standards.
• Build, manage, and track annual operating and capital budgets.
• Monitor expenses and identify opportunities to improve performance.
• Coordinate capital improvement projects from planning to completion.
• Manage tenant and vendor relationships; primary point of contact for property needs.
• Source and manage third‑party vendors and service providers.
• Troubleshoot property issues and drive resolutions.
• Collaborate with accounting, leasing, marketing, and leadership teams.
• Provide insights on tenant performance and property conditions.
• Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and environmental requirements.
