Job summary

S&ME is seeking a Specialty Driller Trainee to support specialty and overwater drilling projects. You will work closely with an experienced Senior Driller to develop the skills needed for lead drilling roles, including equipment operation, safety, and complex field environments.

The role involves travel across S&ME’s footprint with a 10-on/4-off schedule and opportunities for mentorship, training, and professional development. A strong work ethic and safety mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Active certifications/licensure: CDL and Driller license preferred.
• Experience in geotechnical/environmental drilling is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support specialty drilling operations alongside a Senior Driller.
• Assist with operation, mobilization, and maintenance of drilling equipment.
• Coordinate logistics and materials across multiple project locations.
• Develop technical skills in overwater drilling and marine operations.
• Grow into a lead driller role through hands-on training.
