Job summary

S&ME, Inc. is seeking a Specialty Driller Trainee in Raleigh, NC, with travel across our footprint. The role offers hands-on learning in overwater and specialty drilling environments under an experienced Senior Driller.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of drilling experience, a high school diploma or GED, and English communication proficiency. CDL is a plus, with a clear path toward becoming a lead driller as you grow within the company.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum of 1 year in geotechnical and/or environmental drilling.
• CDL is a plus; validity of driller license preferred.
• Effective communication in English (spoken, read, write).
• Ability to perform routine vehicle and equipment maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Support specialty drilling operations alongside a Senior Driller.
• Assist with operation, mobilization, and maintenance of drilling equipment.
• Coordinate equipment, materials, and project logistics across locations.
• Learn drilling methods, equipment selection, troubleshooting, safety requirements.
• Develop into a lead specialty driller through hands-on experience.
