Job summary

Clayton Connect is seeking a Pilot/Escort Driver to safely transport oversized loads with a team, coordinating with Toter drivers and retailers.

The role requires a valid license, ability to travel 2–3 nights weekly, physical capabilities for inspections/repairs, and adherence to safety protocols. Full-time benefits include 401(k) with company match, medical/dental, PTO and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license required; additional endorsements may be needed.
• Background check and motor vehicle report as per company policy.
• Must pass company drug testing and adhere to policies.
• Must obtain/maintain P/EVO and Defensive Driving Certification.
• Overnight stays 2–3 nights per week required.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and performing inspections.
• English reading/speaking proficiency; understand bills of lading.
• Ability to operate nationwide (48 states) when needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing homes for shipment (lights, tires, securing materials).
• Pilot/Escort the home, call hazards, and assist in route navigation.
• Maintain CB radio communication with Toter driver and retailers.
• Follow state Pilot/Escort requirements and company standards.
• Represent Clayton professionally; duties may include repairs and inspections.
