Barnhart Transportation is seeking a highly motivated Escort Driver to join our growing team in Houston, TX. The role involves coordinating with dispatch for oversize loads, communicating with drivers, and relaying load and permit information to management.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and trucking/escort experience, plus strong communication, multitasking, and detail orientation. Training and professional growth opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• Trucking or Escorting experience preferred.
• Knowledge of distances and measurements.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain communication with manager and follow instructions on being dispatched on oversize loads.
• Communicate with drivers about meeting time and location.
• Relay load and permit information to manager.
• Bookkeeping of hours, fuel, hotels, food, mileage, etc.
• Long hours of driving.
• Calling out all necessary distances, routes, restrictions, cars, etc. for driver.
• Obtain NY certificate if not already obtained.
• Continuous training, learning, education as needed.
• Maintain working relationships with drivers.
• Other duties as assigned.
