Qualifications

• Must be 25+ years of age.
• Valid Class A Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
• Knowledgeable of USDOT requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Safely load, secure, and transport freight.
• Verify and document load information.
• Operate specialized trailers with precision.
• Plan and execute routes with the logistics team.
• Manage basic maintenance of vehicles.
• Maintain DOT-compliant driver files.
• Conduct road tests for prospective drivers.
• Collaborate on compliance improvement initiatives.
• Participate in safety meetings and training.

Skills

Strong organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills

Ability to safely operate heavy haul combinations

In‑depth knowledge of oversize/overweight permitting

Expertise in DOT, FMCSA, and TXDOT compliance

Advanced load securement techniques

Proficiency in GPS-based route planning

Mechanical aptitude

Familiarity with TMS software

Strong commitment to safety

Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills

Time management and multitasking ability

Willingness to travel long distances

Education

3 years of professional Class A CDL driving experience

Understanding of FMCSA and DOT safety regulations

Completion of Defensive Driving or Load Securement courses
