Qualifications

• Experience preferred but willing to train individuals interested in working with youth.
• Ability to communicate with, lead, and maintain authority while working with youth to complete morning routines.
• Sensitivity to cultural differences in the client population.
• Supervision of residents and activities, including crisis intervention.
• Maintain cleanliness of assigned work areas and note maintenance needs.
• Participate with youth and provide leadership in activities including morning routines.

Responsibilities

• Begin shift at Abbott House after youths are asleep and monitor sleeping residents.
• Regularly check on residents during night hours and document observations.
• Assist with morning routines when youths wake and prepare for school.
• Ensure cleanliness of assigned areas and report maintenance needs.
• Engage with youth in activities and provide leadership as appropriate.
