Job summary

AdventHealth in Wesley Chapel, FL, seeks an experienced radiology professional to perform CT, MRI, X‑ray, mammography, ultrasound and Dexa imaging with emphasis on safety, accuracy and patient education. You will ensure patient identification, manage orders, and stay current with imaging protocols and software tools.

The role requires at least 3+ years in radiology, BLS certification, and strong collaboration with teams to meet turnaround times and quality targets.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree preferred in Radiologic Technology.
• 3+ years radiology experience, with additional modalities preferred.
• BLS certification required and maintained.
• Ability to learn and use Radiology software packages (PACS, EMR).

Responsibilities

• Perform imaging procedures using CT, MRI, X‑Ray, mammography, ultrasound, or Dexa protocols.
• Educate patients about exams and obtain proper patient identification.
• Operate imaging equipment safely and review orders against exams.
• Maintain workflow and minimize idle time between exams.
• Follow department policies, participate in meetings, and support process improvement.
• Complete waived or non‑waived testing when applicable and document competency.

Job Description:

• Shift: Friday-Sunday 1900-0730.
• Maintains a clean, organized, and well-stocked room, performing quality assurance on scanners and handling pharmaceutical waste according to training.
• Reviews all images for accuracy and quality, repeating images as necessary for the best possible result.
• Uses the computer system for ordering, changing, and canceling exams, ensuring orders match exams.
• Participates in employee satisfaction and customer service initiatives, contributing to process improvement projects and teams.
• Attends department and mandatory meetings with a positive attitude, staying informed about meeting content.
• Performs waived and non‑waived Point of Care Testing, ensuring approved competency and documented proof at the time of training.
• Complies with appropriate standards and directives if registered in sonography.
• Completes all exams in a timely manner, maintaining workflow and minimizing empty table time.
• Performs imaging procedures using AdventHealth CT, MRI, X‑Ray, mammography, ultrasound, or Dexa protocols, ensuring proper patient identification and screening for contrast allergies. Educates patients about their exams and follow through with communication and discharge after completing exams. Operates all imaging equipment safely and properly, adapting protocols for patients of all ages and practicing infection control standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Ability to complete exams in an acceptable time frame to meet TAT goals. [Required]
• Ability to assess, start and confirm appropriate placement of IV’s for use in CT and MR studies. [Required]
• The ability to assess, explain and perform all studies that a registry is held in on all patients of all ages. [Required]
