Job summary

Hogan Transportation is seeking a Night Dispatcher to manage incoming calls, track loads, and coordinate repower needs to keep drivers moving according to account manager schedules.

You will monitor driver utilization, dispatch trucks via Qualcomm or phone, communicate with customers and day operations, and ensure on-time pickups and deliveries while adhering to hours-of-service rules. This role supports overnight coverage and requires proactive communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associates degree preferred.
• Experience in transportation or dispatching is a plus.
• Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Monitors personnel and driver utilization to coordinate service and schedules.
• Schedules or dispatches drivers to locations according to customer requests using Qualcomm devices or telephone.
• Communicates with customers or supervising personnel to address questions, problems or requests for service.
• Advises personnel about traffic problems, construction areas, accidents, congestion, weather conditions or other hazards.
• Ensures that each driver understands customer and company expectations.
• Daily accounting of all assigned trucks or drivers.
• Monitors on-time performance for customers.
• Responsible for on-time pick up and delivery performance, out of route miles, hours of service compliance and special routing needs.
• Other duties as assigned.

The Night Dispatcher handles all incoming calls, tracks all hot loads, updates, and repower loads if necessary. Candidates will also communicate any issues to the customer or day operations making sure all other drivers are moving at specified times given to them by account managers.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; Associates degree preferred.
• 1-3 years’ experience in the transportation industry. LTL experience preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft products including Word and Excel.
• Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
