Job summary

Halperns’ Steak & Seafood in Fort Lauderdale, FL is seeking an Overnight Warehouse Loader to palletize orders and prepare them for shipment.

You will work Sunday to Friday, 8pm until finish (with varying days off in between). Starting pay is $18.00 per hour. Forklift certification is required upon hire and must be maintained during employment.

This role requires physical endurance, ability to work across temperatures, and careful handling of loads with strong safety awareness and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent required.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
• Forklift certification must be obtained upon hire and maintained.

Responsibilities

• Palletizes orders for final delivery to customers.
• Receives load sheet and assembles pallets accordingly.
• Gathers and organizes products for loading.
• Check routes and ensure correct door delivery.
• Ensure proper load sequence and follow instructions.
• Scan products to route with RF scanner.
• Submit load sheets to invoicing for printing.
• Install wrap to prevent shifting and label pallets.
• Operate warehouse equipment to load pallets onto trucks.
• Report any product or equipment damage or malfunctions.
• Adhere to safety regulations and procedures.

_ Position Summary: _

Palletizes orders for final delivery to customers.

_ Essential Functions: _

• Receives load sheet from Warehouse Supervisor and assembles pallets accordingly.
• Gathers and organizes products from various staging areas and prepares them for loading.
• Check the route to ensure all products are at the correct door prior to loading.
• Ensure load is in proper sequence, following special instructions, exceptions and procedures.
• Scans all products too route with RF Scan Gun.
• Submits completed load sheet to invoicing for printing.
• Install wrapping or bracing to prevent shifting or damage in transit and label pallets.
• Operate warehouse equipment properly to load pallets onto designated trucks.
• Handle products to minimize damage. Report damage of product or equipment
• Verify all ThermoKing units are operating and report malfunctions to supervision
• Performs other duties as assigned.

_ Knowledge / Skills / Abilities: _

• Ability to work in a fast paced, physically demanding environment requiring constant walking, ascending/descending stairs or pallet jack platform, bending, reaching, lifting, and carrying.
• Must be able to work in temperatures ranging from -30 F to 100+F.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
• Must be able to work independently or within a team environment.
• Must adhere to all safety regulations and procedures.
• Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
• Ability to operate powered industrial vehicle (PIV).

_ Equipment / Tools / Technology: _

• Radio Frequency handheld computer
• Pallet jacks, hand trucks, Cherry Picker, Forklift
• Shrink wrap/stretch wrap equipment
• Box cutter
• Internet, email, and other applications
• Knowledge of WMS RF system of inventory

_ Educational & Experience Requirements: _

• High School / Equivalent
• Forklift certification must be obtained upon hire and maintained during employment

_ Other Requirements of the Position: _

• Ability to work a flexible schedule according to seasonal demands.

Employees in all warehouse positions must be able to immediately perceive auditory warning signals such as bells, alarms, and horns that are used to warn employees of the startup, movement, or approach of equipment (including forklifts, conveyors, trucks, and other equipment operated inside or outside the warehouse), mechanical abnormalities, and similar risk situations during warehouse operations.
