Allied Veterinary Specialists (AVS) is opening a brand-new 24/7 Emergency & Specialty Hospital in Jacksonville and is hiring experienced Veterinary Technicians for overnight ECC care.

Join our overnight team to monitor hospitalized patients, respond to emergencies, and collaborate closely with our board-certified Criticalist and ER doctors in a state-of-the-art facility. Training and development are provided.

Qualifications

• Overnight Emergency & Critical Care experience is preferred.
• Compassionate nursing care and patient advocacy are essential.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to recognize subtle changes in patient status.

Responsibilities

• Monitor hospitalized patients overnight and respond to emergencies.
• Collaborate with doctors, Critical Care team, and ER staff.
• Assist with ICU care, monitoring, and treatment protocols.
• Support advanced diagnostics and therapeutic procedures as needed.

Allied Veterinary Specialists (AVS) is opening our brand-new, state-of-the-art Emergency & Specialty Hospital in Jacksonville, and we’re looking for experienced, compassionate Veterinary Technicians to join our overnight Emergency & Critical Care team.

At AVS, patient care is our #1 standard. Our overnight technicians will play an essential role in providing exceptional, attentive care to hospitalized and emergency patients throughout the night—with the opportunity to work alongside and be supported by a board-certified Criticalist in the management of critically ill and complex patients.

We are specifically building a strong overnight Emergency & Critical Care team for our new Jacksonville hospital.

Our overnight technicians will be at the center of patient care—monitoring hospitalized patients, responding to emergencies, recognizing subtle changes in patient status, and collaborating closely with our doctors and Critical Care team.

Overnight scheduling opportunities include 12-hour shifts, with additional scheduling options based on hospital and team needs.

Work Alongside a Board-Certified Criticalist

One of the most exciting aspects of this opportunity is the ability to work with a board-certified Criticalist as part of our patient-care team.

For technicians who want to strengthen their Emergency & Critical Care skills, this provides an incredible opportunity to learn, grow, and participate in the care of medically complex patients while working within a collaborative specialty environment.

You’ll have exposure to advanced Emergency & Critical Care medicine, including:

ICU and hospitalized patient management

Advanced patient monitoring and nursing care

Emergency stabilization and triage

Critical and complex case management

Continuous rate infusions and IV medication administration

Oxygen therapy and respiratory support

Blood product administration and transfusion monitoring

Advanced diagnostics and treatment protocols

Close collaboration with Emergency Doctors, Critical Care, and other specialty services

Experienced in veterinary patient care and comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment. Emergency, ICU, specialty, or critical care experience is highly valued.
