Allied Veterinary Specialists in Jacksonville is opening a brand-new, state-of-the-art Emergency & Specialty Hospital and is hiring Surgery Veterinary Technicians to join our growing team.

Join board-certified surgeons and support patients through admission, anesthesia, surgery, recovery and discharge as we build the standard for surgical excellence from day one.

Qualifications

• Experienced in veterinary patient care and passionate about surgery, anesthesia, and exceptional nursing care.
• Previous surgery, specialty, emergency, anesthesia, or advanced technical experience is highly valued.
• We value compassionate, dependable, detail-oriented individuals who are eager to learn and grow.

Responsibilities

• Surgical patient preparation and positioning
• Advanced anesthesia and multimodal patient monitoring
• Surgical instrumentation and sterile technique
• Operating room preparation and organization
• Assisting during advanced surgical procedures
• IV catheter placement and medication administration
• Pain management and patient comfort
• Pre-operative diagnostics and patient assessment
• Post-operative recovery and monitoring
• Surgical nursing and hospitalization
• Client education and discharge instructions
• Maintaining surgical instruments, equipment, and inventory
• Collaboration with Emergency, Critical Care, Internal Medicine, and other specialty services

We are building an exceptional Surgery Team for our new Jacksonville hospital.

Our Surgery Technicians work closely with our surgeons, doctors, and fellow technicians to provide outstanding care to patients undergoing both routine and highly advanced surgical procedures.

This is an opportunity to practice at a high level while helping establish the culture, standards, and workflows of a brand-new specialty hospital from the very beginning.
