Animal Emergency Clinic of the High Country is hiring an Overnight Veterinary Assistant to join our emergency team in Boone, NC. This full-time role offers 3 × 12-hour shifts, including weekends, with competitive pay based on experience.

You will work alongside veterinarians and technicians providing critical care, triage, and treatment for emergency patients while supporting clients with clear communication and empathy.

Qualifications

• Experience preferred, but willingness to train the right candidate with a strong work ethic and positive attitude
• Motivation and compassion for emergency veterinary care
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Interest in building skills and learning in emergency medicine
• Veterinary technology students, pre-veterinary students, and individuals seeking hands-on clinical experience are encouraged to apply

Responsibilities

• Assist doctors and technicians with patient care
• Perform triage and intake of emergency patients
• Draw blood and place IV catheters
• Monitor hospitalized patients
• Administer medications and treatments
