VCA Veterinary Emergency and Veterinary Specialty Center in Madison, WI seeks a Veterinary Technician to join our Overnight Emergency and Critical Care Team. You will triage emergencies, support ER doctors, and provide high-quality nursing care in a fast-paced setting.

This full-time, overnight/3rd shift position offers a $5,000 sign-on bonus and a comprehensive benefits package. You will collaborate with clinicians, maintain records, and participate in ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Triage and prioritize incoming emergency cases
• Coordinate ER flow by assigning clinicians and ensuring timely patient care
• Provide high-quality nursing care and monitor critically ill or injured patients
• Place IV catheters, perform diagnostic testing, and administer treatments
• Assist in and monitor anesthesia for emergency procedures; manage patient recovery
• Support clinicians during exams, procedures, and diagnostic imaging (radiographs, labs)
• Communicate clearly with clients about patient status and discharge instructions
• Maintain accurate medical records, enter charges, and complete treatment sheets
• Collaborate with CSRs and team members to ensure a smooth client experience
• Maintain cleanliness, follow infection control protocols, and ensure proper patient restraint
• Participate in continuing education and ongoing professional development

As an Emergency team member, you will support the Emergency doctor teams by creating a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our clients and patients.

Our Emergency and Critical Care Technicians thrive in a fast-paced service, handle critical case, and enjoy the stimulating caseload. Our Technicians have the opportunity to sharpen and advance their technical skills every day.

Compensation: Pay range is $25 - 35/hr and is negotiable based on experience, skills, knowledge, abilities and other relevant credentials. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is available to eligible new hires. Terms and conditions apply.
