Job summary

Skylos Sports Medicine, a BluePearl Veterinary Partner, seeks a Veterinary Assistant for an overnight shift (6pm–7am) on Mondays in Maryland. Pay ranges from $20.30 to $25.00 per hour, with additional night/weekend differentials. You will provide nursing care, monitor patients, administer medications, and assist with anesthesia under supervision.

Qualifications

• Provide nursing care to patients according to hospital standards and core values.
• Report patient signalment, problem list and plan during nursing rounds.
• Understand medications, side effects and monitor therapeutic response.
• Administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.
• Perform phlebotomy and basic physical exams.
• Maintain working knowledge of anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
• Stay current on CPR guidelines and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients according to hospital standards.
• Report patient signalment, problem list and plan during nursing rounds.
• Understand classification of commonly-used medications and monitor responses.
• Administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.
• Perform phlebotomy and basic physical exams.
• Assist with anesthesia/monitoring for ASA I or II cases.
• Remain current on RECO-V CPR guidelines and duties as assigned.
