South Metro Animal Emergency Care is hiring an Overnight Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians while ensuring the safety and comfort of pets and their owners. The role involves preparing exam rooms, obtaining medical histories, restraining pets as needed, and assisting with routine procedures under veterinary direction.

The position requires strong attention to detail, good communication, and compassion for animals.

Formación

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Certificate of completion from a NAVTA-approved Veterinary Assistant program preferred.
• One year of experience in a pet care setting preferred.
• Proficiency with computer programs including Microsoft Outlook and Word.

Responsabilidades

• Clean, disinfect, and prepare exam rooms, medical equipment, and surgery between each appointment.
• Obtain initial patient information, medical histories, vaccination records, and the reason for the visit; document records.
• Calm, soothe, comfort, and restrain pets before, during, and after procedures.
• Take notes on examination results and update records as directed by veterinarians.
• Provide owner education and resources on pet care as directed by veterinarians.
• Monitor and track pets’ vital signs after surgery and during boarding.
• Respond to general client questions and assist with routine tasks.
