Job summary

Merrill Gardens at The University is hiring a Senior Living Universal Worker (Custodial) for the NOC shift, Thursday to Monday, 10:45pm–6:45am. This role supports residents and maintains the community to ensure cleanliness, safety, and comfort.

You will handle maintenance, housekeeping, and support tasks, including safety procedures, event and dining setup, and resident interaction. A high school diploma and 1–2 years of housekeeping experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of housekeeping experience in senior living or similar environment preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs maintenance tasks: defrosting refrigerators, replacing light bulbs and A/C filters, checking safety equipment monthly.
• Maintains common areas and vacated rooms, including walls, floors, doors, windows and furniture.
• Cleans common areas, laundry, dining setup, and event preparation.
• Delivers papers and flyers, answers phones, assists with mailings and office tasks.
• Supports safety procedures and hazard communications; responds to emergencies per protocol.
