Job summary

Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) NYC Transit seeks an Assistant Civil Engineer for overnight shifts in MOW Engineering, handling track design, surveys, and construction support to ensure safety and reliability.

The role requires a NYS Professional Engineer license and four years of civil engineering experience; a Master's may substitute one year. Proficiency with CAD (MicroStation) and MS Office is preferred, with overnight hours 10pm–6am.

Qualifications

• A valid New York State Professional Engineer's License and four years of full-time civil engineering experience.
• Master's degree in civil engineering from an accredited college may be accepted as equivalent to one year of full-time experience.
• In addition to the above qualifications, to be eligible for Levels II and III, candidates must have at least one year within the last three years as a major contributor or project leader on a complex project.

Responsibilities

• Prepare designs for trackwork, switches, and track components.
• Conduct field engineering surveys and provide construction assistance.
• Review shop drawings and perform first-article material evaluations.
