Job summary

Meijer Inc. in Indiana seeks an experienced Store Manager to lead daily operations, mentor staff, and drive customer service and store sales while upholding company standards.

You will oversee staffing, training, merchandising, safety, and financial performance with emphasis on prime shopping hours and collaborative leadership.

The role requires strong communication, conflict resolution, and ability to develop career paths within the team.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• 1 year of management experience.
• Experience rotating through store areas (meat, bakery, produce, deli) and customer service flow is helpful.
• Proven ability to communicate clearly and direct team members.
• Ability to resolve conflicts and address root causes.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and analyze financial data to inform decisions.
• Experience mentoring team members including hourly staff and SDITs.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and supervise team members in daily store operations.
• Mentor and coach staff to meet customer service and sales goals.
• Implement strategies to improve customer service and drive sales while maintaining store standards.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promote career development and succession planning for team members.
• Document disciplinary actions and make discharge recommendations.
• Maintain P&L, achieve sales targets and control shrink.
• Provide safe, fast, friendly customer service and maintain Meijer standards.
• Ensure team is trained and consistently communicates the Meijer Friendly Initiative.
